Tool Introduction

Metric units (International System of Units)
Microgram (μg), milligram (mg), gram (g), kilogram (kg), metric ton (t). The metric system uses the kilogram as its base unit (SI base unit); 1 kilogram = 1000 grams = 1000000 milligrams. 1 metric ton = 1000 kilograms. The kilogram is the only SI base unit with a prefix.
Traditional Chinese shizhi units
Shidan, jin, liang, qian, fen. Traditional Chinese weight uses "jin" as the core unit; the current shizhi system stipulates: 1 jin = 500 grams = 10 liang, 1 liang = 50 grams = 10 qian, 1 qian = 5 grams = 10 fen, 1 fen = 0.5 grams. 1 shidan = 100 jin = 50 kilograms. Shizhi units are still widely used in markets, Chinese herbal medicine, and traditional foods.
British/avoirdupois units
Grain (gr), carat (ct), ounce (oz), pound (lb), stone (st), hundredweight (cwt), long ton (lt), short ton (st), British ton. British weights are widely used in the UK and US. 1 pound = 16 ounces = 453.59237 grams, 1 ounce = 28.3495 grams, 1 stone = 14 pounds ≈ 6.35 kilograms. Carat (ct) is used specifically for gemstones, 1 carat = 0.2 grams. Grain (gr) is often used for gunpowder and pharmaceuticals, 1 grain ≈ 64.8 milligrams.
Astronomical mass units
Earth mass (M⊕): about 5.972×10²⁴ kilograms, often used to describe the mass of terrestrial planets. Solar mass (M☉): about 1.989×10³⁰ kilograms, the standard unit in astronomy for measuring the mass of stars and galaxies. For example, Jupiter's mass is about 0.00095 solar masses.
